Three Schooners- Left to right. Ernestina out of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Formally from Maine, Cape Verdian Islands and to New Bedford. In the middle, the Jackson and on the right the California. September, 3 2000. Schooner race in Gloucester Harbor, overcast and little wind. I was aboard the Liberty Clipper out of Boston harbor and the Florida Keys in the winter season. I have several photos of the three schooners ans they tried stealing wind from one another. The California is a top mast schooner. The Liberty Clipper came in near dead last in the schooner race, won by the America. Fortunately for me, coming in last gave me the chance to compete for the best photographs. The sepia tone of the photo was created in photoshop as the origional slide was ISO 64 Kodachrome transparency(slide).
